Jon Jones Trolls Tom Aspinall Again; Rides Horse Wearing Eye Patch To DBX 4 Weigh-Ins!

Jon Jones has mastered the art of trolling throughout his controversial career that spanned nearly two decades. The former heavyweight champion held the belt hostage before vacating it rather than face Tom Aspinall. Jones refused to unify against the British knockout artist despite massive fan pressure and demands. He eventually retired after a long, drawn-out saga that frustrated everyone involved in the sport.

But retirement hasn’t stopped Jones from taking shots at Aspinall whenever opportunities present themselves perfectly. The UFC 321 main event disaster gave Jones fresh ammunition for his trolling campaign against the champion. Ciryl Gane accidentally poked Aspinall’s eye, forcing a no contest that left fans furious and disappointed. Jones immediately updated his social media avatar with an eyepatch on his signature duck profile picture.Now, his grand entrance at the Dirty Boxing Championship event showed Jones’ commitment to pettiness knows no bounds.

Jon Jones serves as co-owner of Dirty Boxing Championship alongside BKFC’s Mike Perry. The promotion held its DBX 4 ceremonial weigh-ins with both owners making memorable entrances for the crowd. Perry arrived first on the bed of a jacked-up truck with his wife and several DBX ring girls. But Jones wanted to make an even bigger statement with his appearance shortly afterward.

The former UFC champion rode in on a beautiful white horse flanked by more DBX ladies. The entrance itself would have been memorable enough given the spectacle and pageantry involved. But anyone paying attention noticed something specific about the horse that Jones chose to ride. The white horse was sporting an eye patch over its right eye that seemed oddly specific. Jones wanted everyone to notice the not-so-subtle dig at Tom Aspinall that he planned carefully.

“Gotta do it right. We got the beautiful horse with the eye patch on, we’re having a good night.”

The comment confirmed what everyone suspected about the eye patch’s significance immediately. Jones was mocking Aspinall’s eye injury from UFC 321 that forced the no contest ruling. The trolling reached another level of pettiness that only Jones could accomplish with such commitment.

The Irony Of Jones Mocking Eye Pokes

Jones was notoriously one of the worst eye pokers in UFC history throughout his championship reign. He frequently extended his fingers during fights, catching opponents in the eyes repeatedly without consequences. Daniel Cormier, Alexander Gustafsson, and numerous other opponents complained about Jones’ eye pokes during their fights. The technique became part of Jones’ controversial fighting style that drew criticism for years.

Jones never faced serious repercussions for his serial eye poking despite countless warnings from referees. Now he’s mocking Tom Aspinall for being the victim of an accidental eye poke that ended his title defense. The irony is absolutely rich considering Jones’ own history with that specific illegal technique.

He is clearly enjoying staying in the spotlight even during retirement from active competition inside the octagon.
