Jon Jones, who is widely regarded as MMA‘s greatest fighter, shocked the world in 2023 by winning the heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane via submission, only to relinquish it shortly after amid disputes over a superfight with interim champ (of that time) Tom Aspinall. Opting for retirement, Jones took a lavish vacation, stubbornly holding onto the belt while dismissing Aspinall as an “up-and-coming” talent lacking experience. He instead expressed eagerness to face Brazilian legend Alex Pereira, praising his household name status over the unproven Brit.
However, Jones’ hiatus was brief, as he swiftly rejoined the UFC’s drug-testing pool, fueled by the allure of headlining the historic 2026 White House card for America’s 250th anniversary. Despite Dana White’s skepticism over his past controversies, Jones is now pleading for a shot against Pereira at the White House, which could be one of the greatest fights we’ll ever witness, if it happens.
Jon Jones was recently interviewed on noscripts.podcast, and he expressed why he wants to face Alex Pereira at White House in 2026. Jones said, expressing his desire to face Poatan, “I’d like to fight Alex Pereira at the White House. I feel like he’s incredibly respectful. I feel like he’s a household name in America and in MMA. Everybody knows who he is. He’s a champion. He’s in the conversation of being one of the greatest fighters of all time. It would be a blockbuster event. I think the whole world would come out.”
Jones talked about beating many Brazilians over the course of his career, going a perfect 5-0, trying to push his streak to 6. “I’ve beaten many Brazilians over the course of my life. Either way that fight were to go, no one loses in that fight. It generates so many million for the sport. There’s just no losing.”
While this would be an incredible fight between two of the best fighters in the UFC, we wonder what Jones thinks about Tom Aspinall, who has called him out multiple times for a fight. But Since Jones retired and gave away the heavyweight belt, the fight between Aspinall and Jones never took place. However, Jones did recently shared what he felt about Tom Aspinall’s recent UFC 321 performance, which was ruled a no-contest.
In a same interview with noscripts.podcast, Jones had some harsh choice of words for Tom Aspinall’s recent performance at UFC 321, which was ruled a no-contest due to Eye Poke. “Tom Aspinall’s wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu are incredibly overrated. He has a beautiful one-two, and that’s it. But he couldn’t touch Ciryl Gane in there.”
Ciryl Gane was having his way against Aspinall inside the game, but unfortunately, Gane ended up poking Aspinall’s eyes thoroughly, due to which the bout was called to a stop, resulting in no-contest. Had it not been for the eye-poke, we could have been looking at a different heavyweight champion, but we’ll never know.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
