Magomed Ankalaev trolls Jiri Prochazka for pursuing his education and not fighting; gets a fitting response!
Social media has become the new battleground where fighters build rivalries before they ever step into the octagon together. What used to happen at press conferences now plays out on Twitter and Instagram for everyone to see. The latest example involves two of the division’s top fighters who haven’t even fought each other yet: Magomed Ankalaev and Jiri Prochazka.
Magomed Ankalaev recently became the new UFC light heavyweight champion after beating Alex Pereira at UFC 313. His victory put him at the top of one of the sport’s most competitive divisions. But instead of focusing on potential challengers or celebrating his achievement, Ankalaev decided to pick a fight with Jiri Prochazka on social media.
The whole thing started when Prochazka posted a cryptic message about something coming “step by step.” Most fans assumed he was hinting at a fight announcement or some career development. Ankalaev saw this innocent post and decided to take a shot, suggesting he was talking about homework instead of fighting.
“Yes, your homework. You are a nerd.”
Prochazka didn’t let the insult slide without responding. He took Ankalaev’s comment and spun it around in the most ‘Jiri’ way.
“Next homework is you.”

Prochazka didn’t need to resort to name-calling or juvenile insults. He simply revealed what he was determined to do. The Czech fighter holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education for Security Forces from Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. He is currently working on his master’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies at the same school. Most people would consider this impressive, especially for a professional athlete who travels constantly for training and competition. Balancing fight camps with coursework takes serious dedication and time management skills.
Meanwhile, Ankalaev is probably going to fight Alex Pereira in a rematch next. As for Jiri Prochazka, his next fight is unknown. He recently decimated Jamahal Hill in their much anticipated fight. Pereira has been somewhat unsure if he will face Ankalaev soon. If there are delays in that matchup, Prochazka just might get the nod for the title fight. Moreover, the bad blood between the two makes it much easier to sell a fight!
