Jey Uso Advances in “The Last Time is Now” Tournament, Defeats The Miz in a Grueling Battle on Friday Night SmackDown

Jey Uso defeated The Miz in a thrilling match of “The Last Time is Now” tournament to advance to the next round. He now joins Sheamus and Rusev in the second round of the 16-man tournament that will decide the opponent for John Cena’s last match at SNME on December 13, 2025.

The match between the “Main Event” Jey Uso against the two-time WrestleMania main-eventer, The Miz. Jey Uso dominated the proceedings in a highly competitive bout, but The Miz, driven by his desire to retire John Cena, quickly made a fighting comeback. The A-Lister performed a series of signature moves that included a DDT and an attempt to mock John Cena by using his Five-Knuckle Shuffle.

The Miz then performed a Skull Crushing Finale, but Jey Uso kicked out at two. The Miz then tried to perform a Skull Crushing Finale from the second rope, and that proved to be his downfall. Jey Uso countered it and then delivered a devastating Spear, followed by a picture-perfect Uso Splash to secure a pinfall victory over the veteran.

Jey Uso Joins Sheamus And Rusev in the Second Round of the Tournament

Jey Uso moves one step closer to the ultimate spotlight of the year, that is, John Cena’s last match inside the squared ring. John Cena, the goat and the newest Grand Slam Champion, will call curtains to his illustrious career at SNME on December 13, 2024, and his opponent for his final match will be decided through The Last Time is Now tournament.

LA Knight is scheduled to face the mystery opponent tonight to decide the fourth member entering the second round. Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to qualify for the second round of the tournament, while Rusev cheated his way through Damian Priest to enter the second round on Monday Night Raw. Jey Uso is the third wrestler to qualify, which only intensifies the competition ahead.
