UFC 319 Prediction and Betting Odds – Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page Predictions And MMA Betting Odds

Zaid Quraishi

The middleweight division has always been home to some of the most explosive knockouts in MMA history. These fighters hit hard enough to sleep their opponents but move fast enough like lightweights. This weekend at UFC 319 in Chicago promises exactly that kind of fireworks.

Jared Cannonier steps into this fight carrying the weight of expectations and Father Time on his shoulders. The 41 year-old fighter has traveled one hell of a journey to get here, starting his UFC career as a heavyweight before cutting down to middleweight and finding his true calling.

Meanwhile, Michael Page represents the new wave of talent that refuses to play by traditional rules. The flashy Brit made his name in Bellator with highlight reel knockouts before testing himself in the UFC‘s deeper waters. Now these two completely different fighting philosophies will collide in the Windy City.

Jared Cannonier vs Michael Page Preview

Jared Cannonier stands 5’11” with a 77 inch reach. ‘The Killa Gorilla’ lands 4.60 significant strikes per minute with 50% accuracy while absorbing 4.49 strikes per minute. His 56% strike defense shows he’s learned to roll with punches better as his career has progressed. Cannonier averages 0.46 takedowns per fight with 44% accuracy. What makes Cannonier dangerous is his ability to switch stances and throw shifting combinations that confuse opponents.

Michael Page towers over most middleweights at 6’3″ with a massive 79 inch reach that he uses like a sniper rifle. His 23-3 record showcases years of picking apart opponents with precision striking from the outside. Page only lands 2.53 significant strikes per minute, but his 62% accuracy means every shot counts. More importantly, he only absorbs 1.78 strikes per minute thanks to his elusive movement and range management. Page sits at 0.30 takedowns attempts with just 20% success rate.

Jared Cannonier vs Michael Page MMA Betting Odds

According to FanDuel, Michael Page is a slight favorite at -205. Meanwhile Jared Cannonier is sitting as the underdog at +158. These numbers reflect a close fight where Page’s length and precision give him the edge, but Cannonier’s power keeps him dangerous throughout.

The odds for the fight going the distance have also come out. The probability of the fight ending before the final bell is lower and the odds (+170) reflect that. The odds for the fight seeing the judges scorecards stand at -220

Jared Cannonier vs Michael Page Predictions And Picks

This matchup presents a classic striker vs striker battle with completely different approaches. Page will look to establish his jab early and use his four inch reach advantage to pepper Cannonier from the outside. His karate background allows him to throw techniques from angles that traditional MMA training doesn’t prepare fighters for. Those jumping knees and spinning attacks could catch Cannonier off guard if he gets too aggressive.

Cannonier’s best chance lies in pressuring Page and forcing him into dirty boxing exchanges where experience and power matter more than length. The veteran knows how to cut off the cage and make fighters uncomfortable when they can’t use their reach advantage. His low kicks could slow down Page’s movement, and his clinch work might neutralize the height difference.

If we bet on the fight, we are going with Michael Page to win via decision.
