Israel Adesanya Wants This Fighter To Fight Dricus Du Plessis Next After UFC 311 Win!

Zaid Quraishi

Israel Adesanya calls for a showdown between Dricus Du Plessis and this fighter following his UFC 311 victory!

Long before he became the king of UFC middleweight, Israel Adesanya was known for his keen eye and deep understanding of fighting styles. The former two-time champion has always had a knack for spotting talent. He often praises fighters well before they become household names.

Now, fresh off Reinier De Ridder’s impressive submission victory over Kevin Holland at UFC 311, Adesanya is playing matchmaker again. And his pick for De Ridder’s next opponent has got everyone talking.

Israel Adesanya’s Comments On Reinier De Ridder’s Performance

The Dutch submission specialist De Ridder made quite the splash in his second UFC fight. He put the always-entertaining Kevin Holland to sleep with the same kind of grappling prowess that earned him two belts in ONE Championship. Watching from home, Israel Adesanya couldn’t help but get excited about the possibilities this victory opened up.

“I have seen enough. Give him Dricus Du Plessis. I need to see that fight.”

Dricus Du Plessis recently defended the middleweight best against Adesanya last year. And he is set to take on Sean Strickland again at UFC 312, from whom he snatched the throne earlier last year. According to ‘The Last Stylebender,’ a challenger like Reinier de Ridder might just have the perfect style to give DDP problems.

Drucus Du Plessis is known for his weird and aggressive standup and decent wrestling and ground-and-pound. He would face someone who actually wants to go to the ground with him. Adesanya’s thinking behind this potential fight is deep, especially when considering their propensity for the grappling arts.

Whether the UFC takes Israel Adesanya’s matchmaking suggestion seriously (it doesn’t seem they will at the moment) remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: He has the fighting world buzzing about a potential clash that could redefine what high-level grappling looks like in the octagon.
