The Kansas City Chiefs are travelling on the road to face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, on Sunday, September 21, 2025. The Chiefs are coming off a disappointing loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, after a late turnover committed by Patrick Mahomes when he was trying to throw the ball, in the end zone to Travis Kelce. The final score ended up as 17-20, with the Chiefs now under a 0-2 hole. Similarly in Week 1, the Chiefs faced the Chargers at Brazil, but unfortunately they lost the game by six points 21-27, behind Justin Herbert’s excellent opening week performance.
Patrick Mahomes has been terrific so far, even with an interception recorded to his name. However, the Chiefs’ O-line has not been the same, failing to protect their QB time and time again. Another thing to keep in mind is their defense. While they are not surrendering a ton of points, it looks depleted compared to their other seasons. With multiple players listed on the injury list, and Rashee Rice suspended for six games, the Chiefs will have to find a way to turn their season around. And the have a great opportunity in their hands, facing the New York Giants tonight for Sunday Night Football.
With that being said, will Chiefs’ wide receiver Xavier Worthy be available for tonight’s game? Let’s find out more.
No, Xavier Worthy will not be playing tonight versus the Giants as he is still dealing with a shoulder injury that he suffered during Week 1 against the Chargers, after colliding with Chiefs’ TE Travis Kelce, while running his route. Worthy did not play in Week 2 against the Eagles either, and was a limited participant for the Chiefs’ practices held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, last week. It is currently not know when Worthy will return on the field but one thing’s for certain, the Chiefs need him badly.

Xavier Worthy’s shoulder dislocation has sidelined the Chiefs‘ speedy WR, thinning an already depleted roster of wide receivers with Rice’s suspension. Mahomes’ deep threats will significantly diminish as Worthy is a threat to score a touchdown through deep passes.
#Chiefs Xavier Worthy – High concern for shoulder dislocation.

Suspect MRI coming. Re-injury risk = high with these.
In-season return depends on personal risk tolerance + structural damage extent.

Without Worthy or Rice, the Chiefs will have to depend on their veterans like Thorton, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster more, with their fourth-round pick Jalen Royals also questionable for tonight’s game with a knee injury.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
