Saquon Barkley has turned his career around by simply making one move and that’s getting traded. He was traded away from the New York Giants after playing for 6 seasons for them. It is simply amazing how a player’s production can be counted as empty stats playing for a losing team or contribute towards winning. Barkley, when he was in New York, produced like no other running back in the league. However, it did not result in much of winning. While he was the one shining star in the Giants’ roster, the rest of the team was abysmal. Whether it was the coaching staff, inconsistent QB play, poor front office, Giants just could not figure it out. Even till this day, the Giants are still struggling to find a light at the end of the tunnel.

For Barkley, as soon as he was traded away, he had one of the greatest seasons for a running back and posted absurd numbers. Barkley played in 16 regular season games for the Eagles and recorded 2005 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, and averaged a staggering 125.3 yards per game. Barkley is one of the only 9 players in NFL history to record 2000 plus yards in a single season. If he helps the Eagles win the Super Bowl, an argument could be made about if Barkley had the greatest season ever for a running back.

From not making the playoffs to having one of the greatest seasons and helping his team get to the Super Bowl. Barkley is making it known that he’s, arguably, the best running back in the NFL.

How has Saquon Barkley performed in the playoffs?

Saquon Barkley’s regular season success has now carried over to the playoffs. Against the Green Bay Packers, in the wildcard round of the playoffs, Barkley recorded 119 rushing yards, and had 25 rushing attempts. He was a constant threat and helped his team get the win. In the divisional round, Barkley dominated against the L.A Rams and recorded 205 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. His best playoff game came against the Washington Commanders where Barkley recorded 118 rushing yards, and 3 rushing touchdowns.

The opposition had no idea on how to limit Barkley from rushing with the football. He has put a whole new dynamic to the Eagles’ offense and are a serious threat to win it all.

How important is Saquon Barkley to his team?

Saquon Barkley, in just his first season with the Eagles, has become extremely important for his team. There are a lot of reason for this but the biggest has to be the compliment he has been to Jalen Hurts. Prior to Barkley’s arrival, Hurts had very limited options on what he could do with his offense. This resulted in a lot of interceptions and trying to do way too much on his own. However, since Barkley is now in the mix, opposition defenses have to respect his running game. This can open up passing lanes for others and it has also created a well-rounded offense, which is difficult to stop.

Saquon Barkley is now headed to his first Super Bowl with the Eagles. He is a huge reason why the Eagles have made it this far. The Eagles are the underdogs going into the match. However, they are a huge threat to disrupt the Chiefs’ three-peat chances.
