Saquon Barkley is one of the best running back across the NFL. If we were to give an MVP award to one of the Eagles’ players, it would be him. He put the team on his back and has delivered in many ways. While many were skeptical about the off-season move for Barkley, the Eagles have been a fine fit for the RB. He just had his best season, playing for the Eagles. Barkley racked up 2005 rushing yards (career high), 13 rushing touchdowns (career high), 33 receptions, 238 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns.
The majority of the Eagles’ success, so far, this season, has been due to Barkley. He usage rate is sky-high and that will likely not change anytime soon. As a fan of his game, it’s great to see Barkley finally getting success for the numbers and efficiency he puts up. As prior to the Eagles, he was, simply put, playing for a losing team.
Barkley started his NFL career with the New York Giants and spent 6 seasons with the team. Over the six seasons that he played for the Giants, they only made the playoffs once, in 2022. If we’re talking about New York football teams, both the teams (Jets and the Giants), just cannot figure out how to win games. Now coming back to Barkley, staying in New York would just be a waste of his talents.
In the 6 seasons Barkley played for the Giants, he notched 5211 rushing yards, 35 rushing touchdowns, 288 receptions, 2100 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns. He was selected to the Pro-Bowl twice, was the Offensive rookie of the year, and won the comeback player of the year award in 2022. Now let us look at his playoff records.
Saquon Barkley made the playoffs just once, playing for the Giants in 2022. The 2024 playoff run, with the Eagles, is only his second playoffs appearance so far. With New York, it was not exactly Barkley’s fault. While his numbers were always there, the rest of the team just could not help him much. From poor draft decisions, to inconsistent QB plays, and being horrible on both sides of the ball, the Giants never stood a real chance in the regular season, let alone the playoffs.
His only playoff run came in 2022 where the Giants played against the Minnesota Vikings and won. However, they had no answer for the Eagles, who were at the time the number one seed in the NFC.
Blink and you’ll miss him.

Saquon Barkley has never played in the Superbowl. However, he has a chance to do so, if they beat the Commanders in the NFC Conference Championship round.
Saquon Barkley will be appearing in his very first Conference Championship round, going against the Commanders on 26th January, 2025.
Barkley is one of the best players in the NFL and his addition to the Eagles squad has helped them a lot. Especially Hurts, who did have a reliable running back so far. Barkley has a chance to win his first Superbowl ring and this is as good a time as any.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
