Meanwhile, Latvia are also coming with a 1-0 win against Andorra. They are sitting just behind England due to only goal difference. Now, the Three Lions are looking to maintain their perfect start in Group K. That could be benefitted by Marcus Rashford in the England squad.

Tuchel’s England tenure began with a comfortable victory, with goals from debutant Myles Lewis-Skelly and captain Harry Kane. England dominated possession but their second-half performance lacked urgency. This prompted Tuchel to acknowledge that improvement is needed.

Elsewhere, Latvia, ranked 140th in the world, showed resilience in their narrow win over Andorra. Thus, extending their unbeaten streak in World Cup qualifiers on the road to five matches. Even so, winning against England will be a Herculean task for them. England will also need to field their strongest squad.

Will Marcus Rashford Play Today?

One of the key players for this strong squad could be Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United forward struggled to make an impact against Albania and was substituted in the 74th minute alongside Phil Foden. Tuchel admitted later that Rashford’s off-the-ball movement was not fully utilized.

However, he also praised Rashford’s defensive efforts. Speaking about Rashford, the coach said, “Marcus had a lot of runs when we had the ball, where we did not see him or use him. He was a little bit unlucky maybe with the timing.” Tuchel hinted that he may make potential changes to the starting XI.

However, the German coach hinted that he could stick to the same lineup he started against Albania. He said, “At the moment, no one will be dropped from a performance point of view. We can do better, and we will focus on that.”

With Anthony Gordon ruled out due to an injury, Rashford could find a place in the starting XI.
