Is Jalen Carter Playing Tonight? All About The Availability of the Eagles’ Explosive Defensive Tackle For Super Bowl 59!

One of the fiercest young defensive tackles in the NFL currently is the Philadelphia Eagles’ 23-year-old, Jalen Carter. Drafted in the first round with pick number 9 in the 2023 NFL Draft, Carter has justified the trust put into him by the coaching staff. Following a terrific rookie campaign where he finished second in voting for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, Carter raised his game to another level this season.

The Eagles recognized his talent after watching him disrupt several college games during his time playing for the Georgia Bulldogs. In his three years with the Georgia Football Team, Carter earned a spot on the 2021 All-SEC football team, was a unanimous All-American in 2022, and became a two-time CFP national champion.

The Kansas City Chiefs are well aware of the threat he possesses and must have prepared to the best of their ability to gameplan on how to deal with his strength, speed, and explosiveness. Chiefs’ guards Trey Smith, Mike Caliendo, and center Creed Humphrey have all voiced their opinions on how much of a challenge it will be going up against this talented youngster.

Jalen Carter’s Availability For Super Bowl LIX

Jalen Carter is available for the big game tonight against the Kansas City Chiefs which will be a huge boost for the Eagles’ defensive line. Even though Philadelphia has multiple stars who have played very well this year, defensive tackle Jalen Carter’s presence will be a dominant factor in the game.

Carter’s availability for tonight’s game may have been a doubt a few days ago as he was suffering from an illness and was limited in practice. However, he is now healthy enough to take the field as the Eagles look to avenge their Super Bowl LVII loss.

Jalen Carter’s Performance This Year

Carter’s performance in the 2024 season earned him his first Pro Bowl selection and he made the Second-team All-Pro. He was a constant menace for opposing offenses as he finished the regular season with 42 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 16 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles. Even though his stats may not seem as high as other defenders, it is the work he does on each snap that makes him a force on the football field.

Pro Football Focus ranked Carter as the fourth-best pass rusher this year, and he was ranked the third-best in terms of pressures on quarterbacks just behind Zach Allen and Chris Jones.

More importantly, the destructive tackle has continued his rich form even in the previous three rounds of the playoffs. He already has five quarterback hits, two sacks, two tackles for loss, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble.
