The Stage is set for the Philadelphia Eagles to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl LIX. The matchup will feature two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, in the Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts.
Hurts is coming off of an efficient season in 2024, where he accumulated 2903 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, and 68.7% pass completion (career best). He also threw fewest interceptions since his rookie season with only 5. His regular season play has continued to the playoffs. Hurts has played in 3 playoff games so far and has threw for 505 passing yards, and3 passing touchdowns. Hurts has also delivered with his rushing game as he has 122 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns, and has 9 first downs by running with the football. The only concern for the Eagles so far has been the amount of times, that their QB has been sacked in the postseason. It is already upto 11 and that is something to keep an eye on.
For the Chiefs and Mahomes, they are headed back to the Super Bowl for the third consecutive time. They have won the last two Super Bowls and one of them was against the Eagles. They cruised through the regular season with a 15-2 record. The Chiefs breezed past Stroud and the Texans in the divisional round. Their last matchup was against Josh Allen and the Bills where the Chiefs won but barely. If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, they will arguably be called the greatest dynasty of all time or will at least be in the conversation for it.
Now that the two quarterbacks are set to face each other. The two, Mahomes and Hurts, has also accomplished something in their career that very few have. Let us look at historically great the two quarterbacks are.

The Chiefs were victorious the first time they squared up.
Meanwhile Mahomes, achieved this feat in 2020. His first Super Bowl appearance came against the San Francisco 49ers in 2019 where they won the title. Mahomes and the Chiefs immediately found themselves back in the Super Bowl in 2020. However, they lost the Super Bowl to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mahomes was only in his fourth season when he had achieved this feat.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
