Is Bronny James playing tonight? Latest updates on Lakers rookie’s status against Wizards

Swati Bhatia

Bronny has played in just 10 games in NBA.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to bounce back after a tough blowout loss to city-rivals Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. Tonight, they face the struggling Washington Wizards, who have been on a nightmarish run this season. The Wizards are currently sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just 6 wins out of 41 games and are on an 8-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Lakers are in the 6th spot in the Western Conference with a 22-18 record.

Ahead of the game, the Lakers are dealing with a few injuries, the most significant of which is Anthony Davis, who has been listed as questionable due to right calf soreness.

Will Bronny James play against Wizards?

Bronny James made his return to the court during the Lakers’ Sunday game against the Clippers, playing the final two minutes for his first appearance since January 7.

The decision to keep Bronny in roster for the Clippers game was made just hours before the game as it was earlier reported that the Los Angeles team had assigned Bronny James and forward Jarred Vanderbilt to the South Bay Lakers in the G League.

As of now, there has been no new update on Bronny’s status for tonight’s game against the Wizards. However, considering the Lakers’ injury concerns, it seems likely that Bronny will be with the Lakers for their home game.

After being picked as 55th overall in 2024 NBA draft, Bronny has played in just 10 games, averaging 0.4 points, 0.1 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game.
