Donte DiVincenzo Injury: Minnesota Timberwolves guard out indefinitely with toe injury

The Minnesota Timberwolves, after recording their second straight loss in a close-contested match against the Grizzlies 108-106, are set to be up against the Mavericks in their next match up on Wednesday, January 22. While the side will aim to turnaround their past two defeats, they will continue to be without their guard Donte DiVincenzo.

DiVincenzo will be out indefinitely with a grade 3 left toe sprain, the team announced on January 20. The 27-year-old, who was sidelined in the clash against the Knicks, sustained the injury during Timberwolves’ 116-115 defeat to the Golden State Warriors. During the game, he recorded 28 points with six rebounds and nine assists in his 39 minutes of gameplay.

Moreover, reports by ESPN suggested that his foot has been placed in a boot, and he will receive his treatment in the coming days. DiVincenzo, who is in his first season with the Timberwolves, is averaging at 11 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists this season. On the other hand, in the last six matches of the Timberwolves, he was averaging 17.5 points and 4.7 assists.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, who are sitting eighth in the Western Conference with a 22-20 record, released an official statement and provided an injury update of the Delaware born. According to the statement, the MRI report revealed a Grade 3 left great toe sprain and he as well as the team are seeking a second opinion.
