Trailing 2–1 After the First Leg, Bayern Munich Must Lean on Their Attacking Power and Resilient Away Form To Overturn the Scoreline.
Bayern Munich have travelled to Italy with a clear objective. They need to overturn a 2-1 deficit against Inter Milan to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Even though they lost the first leg at the Allianz Arena, the German giants are still confident about their prospects.
It will not be easy, especially with the match being on the road. Inter fans will be flooding the stadium but Inter’s win in the first leg was by a narrow margin. Hence, Bayern still have some hope of a comeback banking on a combination of attacking firepower, experience, and a strong away record.

Vincent Kompany’s side are missing several key players. This includes Dayot Upamecano, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Even so, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Kingsley Coman were added to the squad for their recent 2-2 Klassiker draw.
Even though they started on the bench, it offers a glimmer of hope. Thomas Muller, who scored the only goal in the first leg, could be pivotal again in this match. Speaking to ZDF via FCInterNews, Muller dismissed suggestions of a miracle comeback. He said, “Winning away by one or two goals would not be miraculous. It’s just Bayern doing its job.”

Harry Kane will become key for that job. He missed some chances in the last game, including a golden opportunity from eight yards. However, he has 10 goals in this UCL campaign. This has made him the most prolific English player in a single UCL season. With the race for top scorer heating up, Kane will be hungry to deliver on the big stage at San Siro.
Inter Milan are unbeaten in 12 games across all competitions. They are also leaders of Serie A and Simone Inzaghi rested key players in their 3-1 win over Cagliari. Hence, his players will be fresh against Bayern at home. Inzaghi’s side also boast the best defensive record in the Champions League.

Additionally, they now have a 14-game unbeaten streak in Europe. Still, Bayern can take confidence from their historical dominance at the San Siro. They’ve won all four previous meetings there. The most recent win came in the group stage last season by a 2-0 margin.
With a semi-final clash against Barcelona awaiting the winner, Bayern must channel their big-game pedigree. If they can replicate the attacking intensity shown in Munich while maintaining defensive discipline, progression is far from impossible.
