Inter Miami vs Houston Dynamo: Will Lionel Messi play tonight?

Houston Dynamo’s are all ready to host Inter Miami in what will be their second game of the campaign on Sunday, March 2. After a disappointing 2-2 draw against NY City, Inter Miami will look to get back on winning terms in their away clash.

The Dynamos, on the other hand, started their campaign losing 1-2 to FC Dallas. They lost their one-goal lead in the second half while creating very little towards the end of the game.

Inter Miami has struggled against the Dynamos over the past few meetings. With only being able to win one game in the past four clashes against them, Miami coach Javier Mascherano will look to improvise on his record against Houston.

Will Lionel Messi play tonight?

Lionel Messi has not travelled with the squad to Houston for their game on Sunday. New Miami head coach Mascherano decided to rest the star forward due to the team’s packed schedule.

This could be as a precaution to Inter Miami’s game against Cavalier in the Round of 16 game of CONCACAF. According to a club source, Messi is expected to feature in Thursday’s Champions Cup first-leg match at Chase Stadium against Jamaican team Cavalier FC.

In response to Messi’s absence, the Houston Dynamo have announced that fans attending the match will receive a complimentary ticket to a future home game as a gesture of appreciation.
