This is the sixth meeting between these two.
Familiar rivals will be on collision course, when Iga Swiatek takes on Linda Noskova in the 2025 Madrid Open Round-3 on Saturday. Although it is a head to head that has a history of merely two years, fans have already been treated to some mouth-watering matches between the two players. Swiatek is the defending champion in Madrid, and will look to enter the last 16 where she could meet either Jelena Ostapenko’s conqueror Anastasija Sevastova or Diana Shnaider.
Still searching for her first title of the season, there has been a drastic increase in the critical scrutiny of Iga Swiatek. Having admitted to facing physical and mental challenges of late, the Polish superstar is on home turf when it comes to clay. Four out of her five Grand Slams have been won at Roland Garros, and she has posted an unthinkable 24-2 record on red dirt over the past year. The World No. 2 beat Alexandra Eala in Round-2.
Linda Noskova is one of the few players who can proudly say that she has outplayed Swiatek in a three set battle at a Grand Slam event. A talented 20-year-old Czech starlet, Noskova’s season-best results came during the Middle Eastern swing – she reached the semifinals in Abu Dhabi and quarterfinals in Dubai. In the Round of 64 here at La Caja Magica, Noskova beat Maria Lourdes Carle 7-5 6-1.
Iga Swiatek leads the head to head against Linda Noskova by 4-1. She has an 80% winning record against the Czech prodigy.
The most prominent result during their cherished rivalry was naturally the 2024 Australian Open, when Noskova pulled off the upset of the tournament. But apart from that result, it has been Iga reigning supreme. In their first encounter at Warsaw in 2023, the home favourite made full use of her advantage for a straight sets thrashing. The pair has also stood across the net in 2025 – in Doha.
