As Inter Milan prepare to take on Bayern in the quarterfinals, let's take a look at how they have fared in Champions League over the years.

Inter Milan, one of Italy’s most iconic football clubs, has a proud history in European football’s most prestigious competition – the UEFA Champions League. Alongside AC Milan and Juventus, Inter Milan ranks among the most successful clubs in Italy. Uniquely, they are the only Italian team to have competed in the top flight every season since its inception in 1909, and the only Italian club to have ever completed a treble, winning the league, domestic cup, and UEFA Champions League in the same season.

Over the decades, Inter Milan have built an impressive trophy cabinet that includes 20 Serie A titles, nine Coppa Italia titles, and eight Supercoppa Italiana triumphs. Their success has extended beyond Italian borders too. The Nerazzurri have claimed three UEFA Cups, a FIFA Club World Cup, and three UEFA Europa League titles, cementing their place among Europe’s elite clubs.

As Inter Milan prepare to take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals, let’s take a look at how Inter Milan have fared in the Champions League over the years and how many times have they conquered Europe’s biggest stage.

In 1964, Inter Milan famously defeated a star-studded Real Madrid team featuring Ferenc Puskas and Alfredo Di Stefano in the final to lift the trophy. They successfully defended their title the following year, cementing their dominance in Europe.

In 2010, under the leadership of José Mourinho, Inter achieved a historic treble – winning the UEFA Champions League, Serie A, and the Coppa Italia. Mourinho remains the only Inter manager to have guided the team to this remarkable feat.

The Nerazzurri also came close to adding to their European tally in 1967 and 1972 but fell short in the finals against Celtic and Ajax, respectively.
