Bronny James’ 16-point G League debut stats
Bronny James put up a strong performance, scoring 16 points as the South Bay Lakers fell short in a 98-90 loss to the Greensboro Swarm during the G-League Winter Showcase.
The Lakers rookie has been showing flashes of promise. On Thursday, the 20-year-old played an all-around game, contributing 16 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, despite his team not being able to hold onto their early lead.
Bronny went 5-for-15 from the field and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc while hitting all of his free throws (2-for-2). However, his struggles with turnovers and fouls continued, finishing with 6.
Notably, this was Bronny’s fourth G-League appearance. As part of the Lakers’ development plan, the rookie has been assigned to the South Bay Lakers for home games. His December averages now stand at 20.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, a sign of consistent improvement.
The 20-year-old last scored a career-high 30 points in a game against the Valley Suns, and his growth as a scorer and playmaker is evident.
