Alvarado has had standout performances recently, posting 20-plus points and five assists in back-to-back games last week. This season, Alvarado has been averaging 10.7 points, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting a career-high 40% from beyond the arc.
Alvarado is expected to return around Christmas.
Jose Alvarado’s injury is a big blow for the Pelicans who have made a poor start to their season. The Pelicans are currently holding a 3-8 record, losing five straight games after a promising 3-3 start. The team has been plagued by injuries, and their defensive woes have been evident, allowing 124.8 points per 100 possessions, the highest in the league during their recent stretch.
