Hot and cold Stephen Curry heats up again, breaks Michael Jordan’s record in Warriors’ blowout win over Sixers

Curry finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in just 30 minutes of play.

Stephen Curry delivered a stellar performance on Thursday night, leading the Golden State Warriors to a blowout 139-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Curry, who has been blowing hot and cold this season, was on fire, recording a career-high 8-8 on three-point shooting despite playing with his right thumb taped.

The 36-year-old star finished with 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 10 assists in just 30 minutes of play as Warriors improved their record to 17-16 this season.

In the process, Curry broke a major record. He surpassed Michael Jordan for the most 30-point games by a guard aged 35 or older. Jordan previously held the record with 39 such games, but with his performance against the Sixers, Curry now has 40 games of 30+ points after turning 35.

The Warriors star also became the first player in NBA history to shoot 8/8 from 3-point and record 10 assists in a game.

Curry’s performance was a bright spot after some ups and downs in recent games. Over the past 10 days, Curry had a few rough outings. The all-time leading 3-point shooter scored just 2 points on 0-7 shooting, marking the worst performance of his career. A few days later, he had 10 points on 2-13 shooting, including 2-9 from three, and then 11 points on 4-14 shooting, with just 3-11 from three against the Pelicans.

However, Curry also had some big games during this stretch. He dropped 31 points with 10 assists and 3 rebounds against the Grizzlies. He followed that up with a 38-point performance, hitting 8 three-pointers, and also had a 22-point game with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
