Golden State Warriors Reportedly Monitoring Bam Adebayo’s Trade Situation

After Jimmy Butler, the Dubs have their eyes set on another Miami Heat superstar.

The Golden State Warriors have reportedly set their eyes on the Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo’s trade situation. As per reports from Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Dubs would target Adebayo, if he ever requests a trade from the Florida-based franchise.

Notably, the Warriors head into the 2025-26 NBA season after making several changes in their roster. They re-signed Jonathan Kuminga, and acquired stars like Al Horford, Seth Curry, De’Anthony Melton, and Gary Payton II.

Overall, their roster seems to be in a good place, where the superstar trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green would aim to guide the side towards the NBA Finals. However, the franchise is still looking for ways to improve, and have the Heat center on their radar.

Siegel reported, “Bam Adebayo is another All-Star in the East who would be at the top of the Warriors’ list of potential trade targets if he were to ever request a trade from the Miami Heat, sources said.”

Bam Adebayo’s Previous Season and Potential Role with Golden State Warriors

Bam Adebayo, who sent his best wishes for Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson for the 2025 WNBA Finals, is entering the final year of his five-year contract worth $163 million. He is set to begin his three-year $160 million extension in the 2026-27 season. In the past season, the three-time NBA All-Star averaged 18.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game with the Heat.

If he moves to the Warriors, Adebayo would be expected to mold into a better version of Draymond Green, due to his defensive skillset. He would also be able to make his mark as a playmaker and serve as an initiator just as Green. Adebayo’s ability to stretch the floor and defend multiple positions would make him a valuable addition. Though the trade seems unlikely, if it happens, the Kentucky alum might be the exact piece that the Dubs are missing.
