From Jersey Exchange to Crucial Sack, Micah Parsons Shares Bittersweet Moments with Former Cowboys Teammates

Devavrat Kulkarni

Micah Parsons return to Dallas ends with the Packers and Cowboys playing out a 40-40 tie in overtime!

The Green Bay Packers made the trip down south to take on the Dallas Cowboys in their week 4 matchup. These two teams have had a rich history in the league, and their games are always a treat to watch.

However, this game in particular carried a major storyline in the form of Micah Parsons making his first return to Dallas following his trade just days ahead of the start of the regular season. It is tough to imagine exactly how Parsons was feeling as the game went on, but the camaraderie and warm embraces after the game with his former teammates would have melted the eyes of all NFL fans for sure.

Micah Parsons Jersey Exchange with Trevon Diggs

Being one of the more popular players on the Cowboys team for the past four years, Micah Parsons shared a strong bond with his teammates, but none were stronger than his best friend, Trevon Diggs.

The 27-year-old who plays cornerback for Dallas even visited Parsons’ suite at AT&T Stadium prior to the start of the game to visit Parsons’ family members. After the game, however, the two players shared a wholesome moment as cameras focused in on their long, drawn-out hug. Both players exchanged words and then proceeded to swap jerseys.

And while the two friends were sharing the lovely moment, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott also joined the duo to meet his former teammate and share a touching moment himself.

Parsons Records First Sack on Dak Prescott

Prior to the game, Parsons, earlier in the week, had spoken about how it would be painful to sack Prescott, someone he referred to as his mentor in Dallas.

Despite evading Parsons for the regular duration of the game, Parsons finally managed to sack his former quarterback in overtime. It was one of the most crucial plays of the game as it prevented Dallas from scoring the go-ahead touchdown.

After the game, while speaking to the reporter, Prescott was surprised to learn that Parsons was awarded the sack, but then accepted it with a smile on his face.

The much-anticipated game between the Cowboys and the Packers ended in a 40-40 tie in overtime after both teams kicked field goals. The Cowboys can take heart in the fact that they were able to neutralize Parsons throughout the game, limiting him to minimal pressure on their signal caller, and that is almost as good as a win for Dallas.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
