A step by step guide for Ferrari's 2025 F1 season after the British Grand Prix
Scuderia Ferrari and Tifosi are not having a great season in 2025. The team from Maranello is far from challenging for wins in the current F1 season. Even with the star driver pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, Ferrari are hardly competitive at the front row. The situation in the team is getting even more tense with the rumors about their team principal. There are some reports about the Maranello outfit trying to replace Fred Vasseur. Nonetheless, Scuderia Ferrari are far from their ideal season in 2025. The team is yet to display a strong weekend.

The very first race of the 2025 season spelled disaster for Scuderia Ferrari. The Scarlet cars were supposed to capitalise on the success they had previous season. By the end of 2024, the Prancing Horses were looking good for their new pairing in the upcoming season. Since the start of 2025, fans were expecting Lewis Hamilton to play a significant role in the drivers championship.
The Ferrari were hardly competitive in the Australian GP. The team was looking for the debut race of the season. During testing and practice sessions, both Hamilton and Leclerc were putting in fast lap times and ahead of the competition. The first sprint race of the season in China saw Lewis claim his first victory for Ferrari. Almost immediately, he was disqualified with his teammate in the main race due to excessive plank wear in their car.
The Ferraris have been struggling for balance and pace the entire season. Charles Leclerc is sole leader of the team when comes to podiums. Hamilton is yet to claim a podium for Ferrari in a Grand Prix. The team had a better time in the last two weekends with their new upgrades. Ferrari is expected to bring a better solution for stability in the Belgian Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are the most discussed driver pairing of 2025. The two drivers have been the no.1 drivers in their respective teams. Leclerc had the edge over Hamilton driving the Ferrari for 5 years. However, people believed that the 7-time world champion would end up overpowering Leclerc.

Contrary to popular beliefs, Charles Leclerc has been consistently performing better than his teammate throughout the first half of the season. For Lewis Hamilton, performance is going from bad to worse. The Briton is hardly able to catch up to the frontrunners. Most of times, he is struggling to get the car going according to his wishes.
Hamilton recently lost a 12-year-streak of consecutive podium finishes at the British Grand Prix. He has been facing mass criticism in 2025 due to his form. The Briton has a long gap to overcome with his new team. Overall, both Ferrari drivers are going through a tough time in 2025. However, Charles Leclerc has the slight edge over Hamilton.
Here’s a comparison of Ferrari and their driver’s results from the previous Formula 1 season-
| (2024 – 2025) | Scuderia Ferrari | Lewis Hamilton – GBR | Charles Leclerc – MON |
| Standings | 2 – 2 | 8 – 6 | 3 – 5 |
| Points | 302 – 222 | 110 – 103 | 150 – 119 |

| Podiums | 10 – 4 | 2 – 0 | 5 – 4 |
Ferrari were looking pretty strong in the previous season with Sainz and Leclerc leading the way. They have had a significant loss in 2025 in terms of podiums and points. The Italian outfit is dangerously close to a winless season in 2025. Both Hamilton and Leclerc had a significant drop in performance this year.
Scuderia Ferrari recently discussed the various challenges they have been facing in 2025. Their cars are undergoing excessive plank wear and are unable to navigate high speed corners. The drivers are also unable to keep the car running at its best for the entire length of the race. The car does not want to turn in during corners.

The drivers are opting much extremes setups which cost heavily in case of a slight mistake. The new suspension upgrade Ferrari will bring to Spa is supposed to curb down these issues. The Prancing Horses have to make some clear changes to their operating style. The recent rumors about Vasseur’s replacement isn’t healthy for the team’s atmosphere.
Scuderia Ferrari won’t start winning races immediately. The team will have to wait for the latter races of the season and bring in better upgrades to be a serious challenger to McLaren F1. Hopefully, they will be to revitalise and consequently create a better car next year, learning from their mistakes in 2025.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
