Indiana Fever’s struggles continue as Atlanta Dream dominate second half
The Indiana Fever traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to face the Atlanta Dream. Once again, the Fever were without their star guard Caitlin Clark, who continues to take cautious steps toward returning from a quad injury.
Her continued absence is clearly impacting the team’s overall rhythm and confidence. Dream and Fever both started the WNBA game on strong terms going toe-to-toe in the first half. Atlanta Dream led the first quarter by 22-19. While the Indiana Fever drew the score with the second quarter lead of 14-11.

The second half story was different altogether as the hosts stomp their authority in the Fever vs. Dream game. The Dream erupted for 23 points in the third quarter while the Fever managed just nine, losing grip on the contest. The visitors trailed heavily in the fourth quarter, and by then, the game had effectively slipped away.
In the final 10 minutes of the game, Dream continued their fine run. Eventually, they managed to win the WNBA game by 77-58. Allisha Gray and Brionna Jones anchored the Dream’s offense, scoring 23 and 21 points respectively in a dominant display. Natasha Howard (15) and Aari McDonald (11) stepped up for the Indiana Fever.
Indiana Fever Coach Stephanie White broke silence on Caitlin Clark’s fifth straight absence. Fans had hoped to see at least a glimpse of Clark on the bench during Tuesday night’s Fever vs. Dream WNBA clash.
Stephanie White while giving an injury update said, “She (Caitlin Clark) has been doing some on the court workouts, and she got into a little bit of practice, yesterday, in an controlled environment. We’ll continue to build on that. Getting workouts outside of practice is one thing, but getting into game-flow, rhythm, timing, movement patterns, getting up and down the floor, is a very different thing.”
Clark recently emphasized that she’s being cautious with her quad and won’t rush her return to avoid further setbacks. But without their star guard, the Indiana Fever continues to pile up losses in the standings. The Fever now sit seventh in the WNBA standings, holding a .444 win percentage.
