Ferrari tries to join hands with Christian Horner but fails to do so.
Ferrari is not having a great season in 2025. They have the pair of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. However, their current challenger is too weak in front of the competition. The team is regularly beat by the Top-3 cars and sometimes every by midfielder cars. The 2025 season is a complete turnaround from their success last year.
Ferrari have been trying to get their team the best possible for long. They were trying to secure the services of Adrian Newey last year. However, the team could not get him to join the Maranello outfit. Ferrari has also tried to poach key players from other teams. It is a common tactic between the teams. In their defence, Ferrari is facing a big issue in their team and management.
They had to fire their team principal and restart with Fred Vasseur in 2023. The team has to work a way out if they want to race as championship challengers. Because in the current state, Ferrari is no more than an ordinary team on the grid.
Ferrari’s name has been linked with some fresh rumors in the paddock. According to these rumors, Ferrari made an attempt at securing the services of Christian Horner. But, they were unable to get him to join their side.
Christian Horner is the longest serving team principal in Formula 1. He has been handling operations at Red Bull Racing since their debut in 2005. Horner was going through a tough phase in 2024. Red Bull Racing’s pace advantage was falling out even though they won the driver’s championship. Christian Horner has underseen multiple team and driver’s championships at Red Bull Racing.
🚨 | According to Bild, Ferrari has reached out to Christian Horner to potentially bring him to Maranello.

As of now, neither Ferrari nor Red Bull Racing have made any comments about the situation. Ferrari’s current team principal, Fred Vasseur, took the team to new heights in 2024. He won multiple races with both drivers including Monaco and Monza 2024.
There is no reason for Ferrari to replace Fred Vasseur after such success. The team is indeed facing issues in 2025 but Vasseur has been doing a good job in providing answers for their failures and improving. When it comes to Christian Horner, there is no way Red Bull Racing is going to let go of their precious CEO. It’s already difficult to find a successful team principal in Formula 1, let alone a championship winning one. The allegations against Christian Horner are already clear.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
