“Unluckiest Driver in the ****ing World”- Fernando Alonso Gets Furious During Imola Grand Prix!

Rohan Singh

Read ahead to know why Fernando Alonso was lashing out over his radio during the Imola GP.

Fernando Alonso is the oldest driver on the current grid. He is on a multi-year contract with the Aston Martin F1 team. Alonso’s age doesn’t hinder his talents. He is still among the better drivers of the grid. His form was proved during the 2023 season when he racked up multiple podiums for Aston Martin F1.

But, the recent scenario at Aston Martin is taking a toll on his mind. He was already reassessing his options to continue racing in Formula 1. The arrival of Adrian Newey at Aston Martin has not particularly benefitted him yet. He will have to wati till the 2026 season if he wants real results. But, for a driver of his caliber the race results are infuriating. Alonso could not finish the first two races of the season. Since then, the Spaniard has been unable to win a single point for his team.

El Padre was starting the Imola Grand Prix from fifth on the grid. However, the race went completely opposite to his expectations. He could not earn a single point once again. The peak of his frustrations was heard during an explicit radio rant at the Imola GP.

One More Bad Weekend for Fernando Alonso

The 2025 season seems particularly worse for Fernando Alonso and his team. Aston Martins have become backmarkers once again. The situation is similar to what Sebastian Vettel faced in 2022 with the team.

Fernando Alonso made impressive gains during the qualifying this weekend. He produced his best start in the 2025 season with a fifth place. But, as soon as the race started, the Spaniard dropped down the racing order. Fernando Alonso finally finished the race out of points. He lost several positions during the race. His Aston Martin was initally surprisingly fast during the Qualifying session on Saturday.

However, Sunday was a different story for the team. Alonso could not compete against drivers from the midfield. He was beat by the rookie drivers in much faster cars.

The performance displayed by Aston Martin has been a major point of concern for experts in F1 paddock. The fans are equally worried if Alonso’s bad performance in the 2025 season will be the final nail on his career’s coffin. The next year, Aston Martins are going to partner with Honda for power units and Alonso personally has a bad experience with Honda. This all leads to one question, are Alonso’s Formula 1 days numbered?
