Former Bulldog Trevor Etienne could be drafted on day 3 of the draft

Trevor Etienne is a running back who played three seasons of collegiate football, of which he spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Florida Gators before transferring to the Georgia Bulldogs in 2024.

The Louisiana native rushed for just a little over 2,000 yards in his three-year college football career and had 23 touchdowns on the ground for an average of 5.6 yards per carry. In 2022, Etienne was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, while in 2023, he rushed for a career high of 173 yards, including 1 touchdown in a game against the number 11 ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

Last year, Etienne made significant contributions against Texas in the 2024 SEC Championship Game, helping the team win the game 22-19 as he rushed for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns, including the game-winning score.

The former Bulldog is seen as a legitimate backup running back, having the ability to develop into a starter. He has a good balance between cuts and acceleration, knows how to wait for a run to develop, and brings in versatility in third-down situations with his pass-catching skills. His small size and lack of explosiveness have limited his rise, thus making him a day 3 prospect.

Is Trevor Etienne Related to Travis Etienne Jr.?

Trevor Etienne is the younger brother of Travis Etienne Jr., who plays in the NFL for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Travis is 6 years older than Trevor and has been playing professional football in the league for the past 4 seasons.

Drafted in 2021 by the Jaguars with the 25th pick overall, Travis ended up missing his entire rookie season due to a serious foot injury that sidelined him for the entire season. After back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023, Etienne’s production took a big hit last year as he rushed for only 558 yards in 15 games.

Nevertheless, Jacksonville had already picked up his 5th year option in April 2024, which means he will be part of the franchise for the 2025 season at the very least. If Trevor Etienne gets drafted on day 3 of the 2025 draft, we could see yet another pair of siblings playing in the league.
