Tottenham Hotspur managed to defeat Manchester United to win the UEFA Europa League 2024/25. Ending their decades-long trophy drought, Brennan Johnson put the Spurs ahead in the first half to score the only goal of the match. Tottenham managed to keep Ruben Amorim’s side at bay since going ahead as they lifted the European trophy for the first time in this century.

While Johnson managed to give Spurs the lead, to was their defensive line that got them past at the San Mames Stadium. With stellar performances by Cristian Romero and Micky Van De Ven, the North London club had their goal secured for most of the 90 minutes in the final.

World Cup Winner Romero pulled up clutch in the Europa League finals against Manchester United. Partnering with Van De Ven, the Argentine managed to keep away 16 shots from United in the finals. Having 73% of the ball, United were denied access in Spurs’ half as their defensive line rarely stepped a foot wrong.
