Estêvão Willian, the 18-year-old Brazilian sensation, delivered a breathtaking performance in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals. His goal contribution earned him the Man of the Match honours despite Palmeiras’ defeat to Chelsea.

The teenager’s equaliser stole the show against his future club, showcasing why Chelsea secured his signature in June 2024 for an initial €34 million (£29 million/$37 million). Moreover, Estevao also debuted for Brazil’s senior team in September 2024 against Ecuador.

When Does Estevao Join Chelsea?

Already a star at Palmeiras and a rising force for Brazil, Estêvão is set to join Chelsea in July 2025. Excited to bring his electrifying talent to the Premier League, the Brazilian has described the move as a dream come true.

While being active in the Club World Cup 2025, Estevao after their win spoke to the media saying:

“Going to Chelsea is a dream come true. Knowing that I need to focus here [Palmeiras] first, it’s not easy. As the move gets closer, both the anxiety and the butterflies start to kick in. But I want to leave Palmeiras on good terms, with my head held high.”

Estevao bid the fans of Palmeiras goodbye as they were knocked out by Chelsea in the final eight. The 18-year-old who started every game for the Brazilian side received a warm farewell as he travels to Stamford Bridge this month.

In the post-match scenes, Chelsea player Cole Palmer exchanged words with Estevao. Explaining their conversation, Palmer in his post-game interview humorously said: “I just said we are excited for you to join, but he didn’t understand a single word I said!”

Estevao will join the elite company of William, Oscar and David Luiz as some of the Brazilians who played for the Blues. Having made over 20 goal contributions in the Betano 2024 season, the fans at the Bridge will look to catch a glimpse of his flair in the preseason.
