Elina Svitolina vs. Anna Bondar Preview

Elina Svitolina is a two-time semifinalists (2019 and 2023) in the Wimbledon and she is an underdog player heading to this year’s competition. She made into the quarterfinals of the French Open and lost to the 4-time champion, Iga Swiatek. She ended the clay-court season with an impressive 18-3 record. She won the WTA 250 title in Rouen, and played semifinals in Madrid Open.

Svitolina started her grass-court preparation with Bad Homburg where she was defeated by Haddad Maia in second round. She had a 6-3, 4-2 lead in the match but still, lost in a three-set thriller. The Ukrainian ace reached quarterfinals in last year’s Wimbledon championship and this year, she wants to go ahead.

Anna Bondar is coming through the Eastbourne qualifiers where she secured her first grass-court victory against an unranked wildcard. The Hungarian ace is 0-2 in the main draw of Wimbledon championship and is yet to win a set in the tournament. With just one main-draw grass win in her career, Bondar will be in huge pressure against Svitolina. She won a W100 in Wiesbaden and reached the final of Bari 125. Bondar has posted a terrible 2-11 record on grass main draws in her career.

Elina Svitolina vs. Anna Bondar Wimbledon 2025 Prediction

Elina Svitolina is one of most fittest and composed players in the event. The former top-10 player has a solid grand slam experience and slower grass suits her. She is also impressive in long rallies. In French Open, Bondar pushed Elina to tie-break and the Ukrainian ace won it. The Hungarian rising star relies on loopy topspin and long backswings. Grass-court is not her surface compared to the clay. Svitolina should finish the game in straight sets.

Prediction: Svitolina to win in straight sets.
