Diego Lopes Next Fight – Noche UFC Gets It’s Main Event With Diego Lopes Taking On Jean Silva

Zaid Quraishi

Exciting featherweight contenders Diego Lopes and Jean Silva to headline the Noche UFC main event this September!

Diego Lopes has been on a wild ride this past year, going from rising contender to title challenger fast. His journey hit a speed bump against Alexander Volkanovski, but that’s how this game works. One loss doesn’t erase everything they have accomplished. Now the Brazilian gets a chance to bounce back in style against another dangerous featherweight who’s been making serious noise.

The UFC dropped the news that sent fight fans into overdrive. Lopes will face Jean Silva in the main event of Noche UFC on September 13th in San Antonio. This matchup brings together two of the most exciting fighters in the division. Both men bring violence and finishing ability that makes fans jump out of their seats. The timing couldn’t be better for a card that celebrates Mexican and Latin American fighting culture.

A Look Into The Two Main Event Fighters

Diego Lopes entered 2024 as a relatively unknown quantity outside hardcore MMA circles. Then he went on an absolute tear through the featherweight division. His wins over Brian Ortega, Dan Ige, and Sodiq Yusuff were statements. Each fight showed different aspects of his evolving skillset. The Ortega win was particularly impressive because he dominated a former title challenger who many still considered elite.

The Brazilian’s rise culminated in a shot at Alexander Volkanovski’s featherweight title. While he came up short in that fight, Lopes proved he belonged at the highest level. Volkanovski is one of the greatest featherweights ever, so losing to him didn’t damage his reputation. Now Lopes needs to prove that loss was just a learning experience rather than a ceiling. His aggressive style and finishing ability make him a constant threat. He comes forward, applies pressure, and hunts for the finish.

Jean Silva represents everything the UFC loves about prospects. The 28-year-old Fighting Nerds team member has been perfect since joining the promotion. Five fights, five finishes, and zero signs of slowing down. His most recent performance against Bryce Mitchell showcased his submission skills with a slick ninja choke that had everyone talking.

Fighting Diego Lopes in a five-round fight represents a massive step up in competition. Silva will need to show he can handle that kind of pressure while maintaining his finishing rate. This fight could determine the next title challenger in the featherweight division. The winner walks away with serious momentum and a strong case for facing whoever holds the belt. Both fighters know what’s at stake, which should make for an electric atmosphere in San Antonio. UFC Noche always delivers special moments, and this main event has all the ingredients for another classic.
