Jake Paul Calls Canelo Alvarez An “Owned Slave,” After He Cancelled The Fight!

Canelo Alvarez is one of one when it comes to his boxing skills. He’s won world championships in variety of different weight categories and is recognized as one of the, if not the, greatest boxers today. His career boxing record stands at 62-2-2 and 39 of his 62 wins have come from knockouts and his only two losses came against Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol. Alvarez is the only boxer to become the undisputed champ at super middleweight. The Ring had previously ranked Canelo as the best pound-for-pound fighter from 2019-2022.

Terrence Crawford, who Alvarez was actually supposed to fight, has been on the hunt for him since ages. He has an undefeated record of 41-0-0 so far in his career and has also won world championships in four different division. The man Crawford wants to take down, at this stage, is Canelo for the Super middleweight title. However, Alvarez has been anything but decisive when it comes to picking his next fight.

Alvarez was recently supposed to take on Terence Crawford. Crawford was supposed to get a shot at fighting the super middleweight king. However, Alvarez cancelled the fight and announced that he’s interested in taking on Boxer and YouTuber, Jake Paul instead. To everybody’s surprise, Alvarez cancelled the Jake Paul fight too and instead did something completely off the rail. Alvarez and his camp, had the boxing world completely confused by his lack of decision making. It seemed like he was lost and could not pick who to fight next.

Now Alvarez has finally chosen on what he wants to do next and it is a surprise to say the least. Let’s find out.

Canelo Alvarez signed a new 4-fight deal with Riyadh Season

After cancelling on both the fights against Terence Crawford and Jake Paul, Alvarez signed a new 4-fight deal with Riyadh Season. The contract also includes a fight against Terence Crawford, who will finally get what he wants after a whole lot of confusion and uncertainty prior. The bout between Crawford and Alvarez, is scheduled to take place on September of 2025.

‼️ Turki Alalshikh has revealed a four-fight deal between Canelo Alvarez and Riyadh Season is done. Alalshikh has also shared that the first fight will be held in Riyadh in May.

Alvarez will now face an undisclosed opponent in Saudi Arabia first, and then fight Crawford on September in Las Vegas. He will also take on two more fights, as part of the deal, in February and October of 2026. On the other hand, Crawford will not fight anyone else except Alvarez.

What did Jake Paul say about Alvarez after the cancellation of the fight?

Jake Paul had some harsh words for Canelo, calling him an “Owned Slave,” and says the Mexican “Ducked,’ him. This comes after Paul and his business partner Nakisa Bidarian had issued an official statement which said that Jake Paul was “deep in negotiations” for a fight between Alvarez and Paul. However, Alvarez decided to change his course and instead signed with Riyadh Season.

Once Paul figured out that he will no longer be fighting Alvarez, he posted on X and had some words for him;

We may not get to see Jake Paul take on Canelo Alvarez but hey, at least we will still be getting the Terence Crawford fight. Canelo’s camp and himself have been extremely undecisive so far and we sincerely hope that he doesn’t look the other way again.
