David Croft Reveals Major Ignorance from Red Bull Racing!

It is safe to say that the 2025 Formula 1 season is one that Red Bull Racing will not want to remember. After all, they are currently undergoing a huge turmoil in their team. It all started in 2024 with key officials of Red Bull Racing leaving the team. They also had to replace their second driver two times but to no avail. Finally, they ended up parting ways with their team principal, Christian Horner in July 2025.

The biggest one of their problems stems from the fact that their car is nearly un-driveable in 2025. The RB21, their challenger for the 2025 championship, is a highly unstable car compared to its competitors. Except Max Verstappen, none of the drivers have been able to tame the car. Even for the four-time champion, handling his car and trying to take victories against the much better equipped competitors has been a nightmare.

Sergio Perez talked about how Red Bull Racing ignored his and Verstappen’s words about the car’s instability and problems. For the past three years, Red Bull Racing have been a dominant force in the Formula 1 championship. Adrian Newey led the team to a complete victory with the newer Formula 1 regulations of 2022.

Yet, when Max Verstappen was breaking down records and creating history, a silent problem was creeping in their ranks. It started with Checo Perez being unable to deliver the sae results as Max Verstappen. With the 2025 season bringing them new challenger in form of McLaren, Red Bull fell short in terms of performance.

Formula 1 pundit David Croft reveals that Red Bull Racing knew about the problems that were going to affect the RB21. Instead, they chose not to heed the warnings of the design team.

“But it was told to me at the British Grand Prix that Red Bull have basically designed a car that is the fastest possible car that the data could possibly suggest, but it’s undriveable. And they were warned about it, in terms of the design team, but they ignored the warnings. Well, it’s kind of coming home to roost a little bit. And maybe – maybe they’re missing Adrian Newey an awful lot more than Christian Horner said they would or ever thought they would.”

The comments from Croft make sense as Red Bull have managed to proved that their car is still capable of wins and podiums. The two victories Max Verstappen claimed with the Bulls was a proof of their speed. However, it also shows that the prevalent instability is a result of their own mistakes.

There’s a chance that the team can still turn things around in the driver’s championship with Max Verstappen. But that depends on their approach towards their car and the upgrades they are willing to bring.
