Dana White Crushes Jon Jones’ UFC White House Comeback Dreams With “Billion To One” Odds

Jon Jones has always been a complicated figure in MMA. The man many consider the greatest fighter of all time has also been one of the sport’s most controversial athletes. His resume inside the octagon is practically flawless, but his life outside those cage walls tells a different story entirely. Now, as the UFC plans something truly historic for America’s 250th birthday celebration, Jones finds himself on the outside looking in once again.

The UFC is cooking up something special for July 4th next year. Dana White wants to stage the first ever MMA event at the White House to mark America’s quarter millennium milestone. When Jones heard about this potential White House card, his eyes lit up with possibility. Here was a chance to represent his country on the biggest stage imaginable, to add another chapter to his already legendary career. The retired champion even came out of nowhere to express his interest in fighting at this historic event.

Dana White’s Swift Rebuttal Of Jon Jones’ White House Dreams

White’s response to Jones making it on the UFC White House card was swift and brutal. The UFC boss didn’t mince words when asked about Jones’ chances of making the card at the UFC 319 post-fight press conference. He went even further, setting the odds that Jones would get anywhere near this event. Those are the kind of odds fans would get on finding a unicorn in your backyard.

“What do you think Jon would do in the next couple of months that would make me trust putting him on the White House card? I already said that I don’t trust him, and you’re asking me what could he do for me to trust him in the next three months. You don’t trust him. I don’t talk to him, haven’t talked to him at all. I would not bet on him. If I had to make odds, it’s a billion to one that I put Jon Jones on the White House card.”

White admitted he doesn’t even talk to Jones anymore and wouldn’t bet on him if his life depended on it. That’s pretty harsh language from a guy who used to call Jones the GOAT. But Jones’ sudden retirement and his refusal to fight Aspinall has shattered White’s trust, especially after White was all but yelling that this fight would happen. Moreover, his record outside the cage reads like a cautionary tale of what not to do as a professional athlete.

White and President Trump are supposed to meet later this month to hammer out the final details for this UFC White House event. The UFC president sounds confident it’s going to happen, which would be absolutely massive for the sport. But Jones will apparently be watching from his couch like the rest of us!
