United States vs. Saudi Arabia: This Group D encounter is particularly intriguing as it pits the USMNT against guest nation Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has been the USA’s opponent seven times overall, and twice in international competition. Saudi Arabia defeated the USMNT 3-0 in the 1992 King Fahd Cup in Riyadh – the tournament which became the FIFA Confederations Cup – and again in the 1999 Confederations Cup, this time a 2-0 defeat for the United States.

Mexico vs. Costa Rica: A classic Concacaf rivalry takes center stage in Group A. The match against Costa Rica will carry extra significance for Mexico as they will face a Costa Rica team managed by Miguel Herrera. Notably, Herrera was the manager of Mexico during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
