Gauff has had a standout season, bouncing back from a mid-year slump with a dominant clay swing. She reached quarterfinals in Melbourne and Stuttgart, followed by three straight finals in Madrid, Rome, and Roland Garros, where she claimed her second Grand Slam title by toppling world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
However, inconsistency still lingers, as seen in early exits from Berlin and Wimbledon. Across 41 matches this year, Gauff has tallied 116 aces, winning 70.1% of her first-serve points and 49.2% on returns, and converting an impressive 54.2% of break points.

Collins, meanwhile, has had a rocky season with flashes of trademark firepower. She made the quarterfinals in Charleston, the semifinals in Strasbourg, and reached the third round at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, losing to eventual champion Iga Swiatek at the latter. Stat-wise, she’s recorded 111 aces across 25 matches, winning 67.7% of first-serve points and converting 47.5% of break chances.

I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
