Charles Leclerc is the lead driver for Ferrari in Formula 1. He has been a part of F1 since 2018. Leclerc was among the best drivers of the 2024 season. He could not compete for the driver’s title but he won multiple races. In 2024, Leclerc gave the Tifosi a home victory at Monza. He was also to create history in Monaco by winning the race from pole in 2024.
His 2025 season has been disappointing to say none the least. Charles Leclerc is nowhere near as fast as he was in 2024. However, he is lowly clawing his way back to the top. Leclerc was able to showcase his speed once again during his home race at Monaco. Even though Leclerc could not win the race he won a podium for Ferrari in Monte Carlo. Charles Leclerc is paired with Lewis Hamilton in the 2025 season in Ferrari. The Monegasque has been the better driver of the pair with his previous experience in the team and car.
Charles Leclerc was born to father, Hervé Leclerc and mother, Pascale Leclerc. Leclerc has younger brother named Arthur who competes in junior open-wheel racing series. He also has paternal half-brother named Lorenzo Tolotta Leclerc.

Charles Leclerc’s father was Formula-3 racer formerly. It was his father who helped Leclerc’s early career. However, his father died at the age of 54 before Leclerc won the F2 feature race in Baku. It is known that Charles Leclerc had to lied to his father about getting a F1 contract before his death. Leclerc did get a contract later in 2017 to race with Sauber for the 2018 season. Charles Leclerc’s mother, Pascale Leclerc was a former hairdresser who ran her hair salon in Fontvieille.
Leclerc has spoken up about his lie to his father,
“I knew how much it meant for us and we had done all the journey together. It was very difficult for me to accept that he would go before I actually signed my first F1 contract. I was really angry with myself for lying to him at first, but, then, luckily, I signed the actual contract right after he left.”
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
