Carlos Alcaraz vs. Laslo Djere Head to Head Record, Prediction and Betting Odds for ATP Italian Open 2025 Round-3

Sankalp Harikrishnan

Third meeting between the two players.

No. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz continues his quest for a maiden Italian Open crown as he takes on Laslo Djere of Serbia in the 2025 Internazionali BNL d’Italia Round of 32 on Sunday. Alcaraz is the defending Roland Garros champion, and will be desperate to perform well in Rome with the No. 2 seeding up for grabs in Paris. Here’s all you need to know about the marquee clash.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Laslo Djere Preview

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Dusan Lajovic 6-3 6-3 in Round-2, and will come up against another Serbian on Sunday. The Spaniard has a 22-2 record on clay over the past year – his only two losses came in the finals of the Olympics and the Barcelona Open. A four-time Grand Slam champion, Alcaraz has picked up two championships in 2025. Winning nearly 81% service games on this surface, he starts as the firm favourite against Djere.

Laslo Djere is searching for his fourth tour-level trophy in Rome. The 29-year-old battled Alcaraz at last month’s Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, but failed to notch a victory. He has already grabbed a clay court trophy this year – at the Chile Open. He has showcased an impeccable level at the Italian capital this week, thrashing Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Alex Michelsen in straight sets.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Laslo Djere Head to Head Record

Carlos Alcaraz leads the head to head against Laslo Djere by 2-0. Their last meeting was at the 2025 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell.

Alcaraz and Djere are experienced clay courters. As a result, it comes as no surprise that both previous encounters between these two stars have been on outdoor clay courts. Djere, a former Top-30 player, took a set off Alcaraz before going down in the 2023 Buenos Aires Round of 16. Earlier this year at the Catalan capital, he proved to be no match for the Spanish prodigy.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Laslo Djere Italian Open 2025 Prediction

Djere was far too defensive in his approach when he faced Alcaraz at the 2025 Barcelona Open in April. However, the Serbian has taken a much more attacking stance this week – which was clearly seen against Etcheverry and Michelsen. Unfortunately, his minimalistic strategy on the return of serve means that ‘Carlitos’ automatically has the opportunity to take control of rallies. It is hard to look past the Roland Garros throne-sitter.

Prediction: Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Laslo Djere Italian Open 2025 Betting Odds

The markets are heavily tilted towards a 2-0 victory for Alcaraz. All the other possibilities are unfavourable at the moment.
