Norrie Faces Fearnley in All-Brit Clash at Roland-Garros
Cameron Norrie is set to face Jacob Fearnley today in the third round of the 2025 Roland-Garros. Norrie opened with a gritty five-set win over 11th seed Daniil Medvedev, followed by a more routine victory against lucky loser Federico Agustin Gomez. Fearnley, meanwhile, upset wild card Stan Wawrinka in straight sets, then advanced past 22nd seed Ugo Humbert. Both players are now enjoying their best French Open runs to date and will today for the first time.
Humbert retired mid-match after losing the first set, following a painful ankle injury. While chasing a wide ball, the Frenchman slid, twisted his right ankle, and collapsed to the clay. He clutched his calf and, after a medical timeout, was forced to retire.

After an early exit in Melbourne, Norrie found brief momentum with a Round of 16 finish in Dallas and a quarterfinal run in Delray Beach. Since then, he hadn’t advanced past the Round of 32 until Geneva, where he bounced back with a semifinal appearance. There, he took out top seeds Tomas Machac and Alexei Popyrin before falling to eventual champion Novak Djokovic in three sets.
Norrie holds a 13-12 record this year, with 117 aces, a 69% first-serve win rate, and 41% break point conversion from 165 chances. However, his defense has been modest, winning just 27% of first-serve return points.

Fearnley’s season has been more patchy, with stronger showings on the Challenger circuit. He started strong with a semifinal run in Canberra, falling to Joao Fonseca, and made the third round in Melbourne and the quarterfinals in Challenger Pau. Since then, he hasn’t progressed beyond the last 16, most recently falling in Geneva to fifth seed Popyrin.
His year-to-date record stands at 9-8. While still finding his footing at the ATP level, his numbers show promise: 88 aces, 70% first-serve points won, 30% first-serve return points, and a 39% break point conversion from 109 chances.
Cameron Norrie and Jacob Fearnley do not have a head-to-head yet.

Taking into account Norrie’s recent resurgence in Geneva and his edge in big-match experience, he enters as the favorite. While Fearnley’s stats show promise, his inconsistency remains a concern. On paper, both have modest seasons, but Norrie’s overall steadiness gives him the slight edge.
Prediction: Cameron Norrie in straight sets
Here are the betting odds according to BetMGM:
Cameron Norrie: 10/13
Jacob Fearnley: 26/25
