Caleb Desnoyers is a top draft prospect at the 2025 NHL draft, which will be held in Los Angeles, California. Desnoyers has been playing junior hockey for the Moncton Wildcats, who are a part of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for the past couple of seasons.

The left-handed shooter plays as a forward, primarily in the center position. In his two seasons playing for the Wildcats, Desnoyers has accumulated a staggering 140 points from 116 games, which also includes 55 goals. Last season, he also had 9 goals and 30 points from 19 playoff games.

Desnoyers, a native of Quebec, has also represented the Canadian national team at the junior level. The 18-year-old is the winner of multiple awards in 2025, including the Michael Bossy Trophy, which is awarded to the best judged professional prospect in the QMJHL.

Caleb Desnoyers Father

David Desnoyers, the father of Caleb Desnoyers, is a hockey enthusiast who also played the sport at the junior, semi-professional, and professional levels. His hockey career lasted from 1991 to 2009, during which time he played for several different teams.

During the early 1990s, David Desnoyers was an important part of the St. Hyacinthe Lasers’ defense as he helped keep the puck out of future NHL star goalie Martin Brodeur’s net.

Caleb Desnoyers’ mother is Martine Laliberté. Just like her family, she is also an avid hockey fan. She makes it a point to catch as many of her sons’ games as possible, which is quite a task since both of them play in different countries. While her younger son played in Canada, her older son, Elliot, has been playing in Pennsylvania, in the United States, since 2022. As per her social media handle on Facebook, she has been working at Centre de services scolaire de Saint-Hyacinthe.

Caleb Desnoyer has a brother named Elliot, who is the elder of the two by five years. Elliot also played two seasons of junior hockey with the Moncton Wildcats from 2018 to 2020. He then played two seasons with the Halifax Mooseheads before being drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 135th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

The older Desnoyers is a big inspiration for Caleb. Being five years younger than his brother, Caleb has learned many things from watching his brother play and draws on the experience handed down to him. Elliot tries to watch as many of his brother’s games as possible and provides constructive feedback that can improve Caleb’s game.

Overall, the Desnoyers are a family that lives and breathes hockey. Now, once Caleb is drafted in the NHL, there will be another set of brothers who have made it in the world’s top professional hockey league.
