Cleveland now has 6 quarterbacks under contract following Tyler Huntley's signing
What does a team with four quarterbacks fighting for the sole starting position do? If your answer wasn’t to sign a fifth quarterback, then you were wrong. That is exactly what the Cleveland Browns have done, as multiple sources claim the organization has signed Tyler Huntley as their fifth signal caller.
Sources: Browns are signing QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, who spent part of last season with Cleveland. With Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel nursing hamstring injuries, and Shedeur Sanders having a sore shoulder, the Browns need another arm. Enter Huntley. https://t.co/6nJ1w1AN8w pic.twitter.com/hLNJzbcWhQ

This move comes as a complete shocker in spite of the fact that the Browns’ current quarterback room is undergoing a few injury concerns. Granted, Shedeur Sanders is suffering from arm soreness, Dillon Gabriel is dealing with a hamstring injury, and so too is Kenny Pickett.
Having said that, even though the signal callers are suffering from niggles, none of them are so injured that Cleveland would have had to go out and bring in another player in an already competitive room.
So, that raises further questions. Has Cleveland decided to move on from one of their four signal callers, or are they going to trade one of them? The other question could also be whether one of them is suffering from a serious injury that the Browns are not disclosing? For now, though, the fact of the matter remains uncertain.
As per the unofficial depth chart disclosed on the Browns’ website, the current order of the quarterbacks is as follows:
Huntley began his professional football career as an undrafted quarterback from the 2020 NFL draft. He was then signed by the Baltimore Ravens, where he played out his rookie contract until 2023.
In 2024, Huntley was signed to the Browns’ offseason squad in March, but was released at the end of August, following which he signed with the Ravens’ practice squad.
However, just a week into the season, the Dolphins signed him after their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, got injured. He spent most of the season as a backup, but went 2-3 in his 5 starts.

Overall, in the 25 games he has played in, Huntley has started 14 of them. He has thrown for 2,786 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, as well as 644 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground.
Going forward, it will be fascinating to see what the Browns intend to do with all the signings under center. Perhaps the preseason will provide a clearer picture of where things stand as far as the Browns’ quarterback room is concerned.
