Atlanta Dream suffered a 81-75 defeat on Wednesday night and slipped to third in the WNBA standings. Despite the loss, Brittney Griner hit a career milestone and moved up in the WNBA history book. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old couldn’t deliver in the third quarter where Las Vegas outscored Atlanta 21-6 to take complete control.

Brittney Griner Reaches 17th Spot in WNBA’s All-Time Rebounding List

Brittney Griner grabbed three rebounds in four minutes of play in the first half to reach the career milestone. With 1:38 minutes left in the first quarter, the Dream star picked up the defensive rebound and crossed the tally of 2,500 rebounds.

With the second rebound of the day, Griner reached the 17th spot on the WNBA All-Time rebounding list. The 34-year-old is 21 rebounds shy of surpassing Swim Cash for 16th. Griner finished the game with five rebounds and made one basket while playing in the reserve role.

Not only that, Griner managed to secure the 17th spot on the WNBA All-Time rebounding list with 2,500 rebounds. Additionally, Griner is 21 rebounds shy of surpassing Swim Cash for 16th. The leader in the All-Time rebound list is Tina Charles with 4,226 rebounds.

Griner is averaging 10.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the 2025 season. She is playing her first full season with the Dream after being traded from the Phoenix Mercury. The WNBA veteran is playing in the league since 2013 and won her first championship in 2014. She has been named a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and selected for the WNBA All-Star ten times.

Griner is on minutes restrictions and team will use her smartly in the playoffs. The Dream dropped the game against the Aces but they are still in the contention for the top-8 finish. They are the top seeded side in the Eastern Conference and third seeded in the league.
