Hottest Team in the WNBA! Las Vegas Aces Set Multiple Records With a 12-Match Winning Streak

Aces' 12-match winning streak is the longest of the 2025 WNBA season.

Las Vegas Aces continued their historic run in the WNBA with a 91-85 victory over Atlanta Dream on Wednesday night. The 2022 and 2023 WNBA champions extended their winning streak to record 12 matches. This is the best WNBA winning streak by any team since 2023. A’ja Wilson stole the show with 34 points and 10 rebounds, while Jackie Young dropped her second triple-double this season.

Las Vegas already clinched the WNBA playoffs berth after defeating the No. 12 Chicago Sky 79-74 on Monday night. They are only the second team to clinch a spot in the 2025 WNBA Playoffs. It has been a remarkable comeback story for the Aces after facing a 53-point blowout loss to Lynx on Aug 02. It was Las Vegas’ seventh straight victory on the road.

Playoff-Bound Aces Moves to Second Spot in the WNBA Standings with Season-High Winning Streak

Las Vegas Aces outclassed the Atlanta Dream (24-14) to take the second spot in the WNBA standings. Dream slipped to the third with a 24-14 record and they have to wait for one more game to confirm the playoffs qualification. Aces’ 12-match winning streak is the longest of the season as the previous best streak came from the Lynx in the beginning of the season.

The Aces also tied their franchise record with 12 wins, which were previously set by the 2023 Aces team. 2023 was the year when Las Vegas dropped a 34-6 regular season record and defended the WNBA title. Las Vegas currently boast the league’s best record since the All-Star break at 15-3 and have won 14 out of their last 15 games.

A’ja Wilson dropped another 30-point outburst in her team’s road victory. The MVP contender has 11 games with 30-plus points for the second consecutive season. Wilson is now one shy of the single-season record set by Maya Moore (2014) and Jewell Loyd (2023). She has 35 career games scoring at least 30 points, the second most in WNBA history.

Wilson also moved past Katie Smith (1,440) to climb into 9th all-time on the WNBA free throw list. The 29-year-old surpassed Yolanda Griffith and Lauren Jackson into 20th in WNBA history with 2,452 career rebounds.

Apart from Wilson, Jackie Young highlighted a triple-double with 10 points, a career-high tying 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Chelsea Gray and Jewell Loyd contributed 14 points each. Rhyne Howard and Brionna Jones scored 19 points each for the Dream. Allisha Gray dropped 15 and Naz Hillmon had a career-high 15 rebounds.

Las Vegas Aces will now eye to break the franchise record for the longest winning streak when they arrive home for the biggest clash against the league leaders, Minnesota Lynx. The 2024 runner-up secured three wins against the Ace, including a 11-58 blowout win. Aces will go on a three-game homestand and will end the regular season with an away clash on Sep 11.
