‘Blessed’ Breaks Barriers- Max Holloway Becomes UFC’s Striking King As He Crosses 3,500 Strikes Landed!

Zaid Quraishi

Max Holloway breaks all time significant strike record after BMF title fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 318!

Max Holloway has spent his entire UFC career turning opponents into human punching bags, one jab at a time. Fight fans have watched him break down legends like Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar, and countless others with his relentless volume striking that just never stops coming. His boxing combinations flow like water, and his footwork keeps him just out of danger while he peppers opponents with shots from every angle.

What makes Holloway so special isn’t just that he throws a lot of punches. It’s that he lands them at an incredible rate while maintaining crisp technique throughout entire fights. Most fighters start to get sloppy when they are tired, but Max seems to hit his stride in the later rounds when everyone else is gasping for air. This consistency over years of competition has allowed him to build up striking numbers that seemed impossible just a few years ago. Now, after his latest victory over Dustin Poirier at UFC 318, he’s officially entered uncharted territory in the UFC record books!

Max Holloway Crosses The 3500 Significant Strike Mark!

The numbers don’t lie, and they tell an incredible story about Holloway’s dominance. After beating Poirier in New Orleans, Max officially became the first UFC fighter ever to land 3,500 significant strikes in his career. His current total sits at an eye popping 3,655 significant strikes, which puts him in a league of his own. To put that in perspective, the second place fighter is Sean Strickland with 2,197 strikes, and Holloway has nearly 1,500 more than him. That’s not just a record, that’s complete domination of an entire statistical category.

But the overall number is just the beginning of Holloway’s striking supremacy. He holds the single fight record for most significant strikes landed with an absolutely bonkers 445 strikes against Calvin Kattar back in January 2021. That fight was less of a contest and more of a striking clinic, with Holloway putting on one of the most dominant performances in UFC history. The poor guy basically used Kattar as target practice for 25 minutes while commentators ran out of ways to describe what they were watching.

Max also owns the record for most significant strikes in a single round, dropping 141 shots on Kattar in the fourth round of that same fight. Most fighters don’t land 141 significant strikes in their entire fight, let alone in one five minute round. It was the kind of performance that had people wondering standing up with admiration!
