Things got worse when a doctor stoppage against Renato Moicano extended his skid to two straight defeats.

But Saint-Denis showed mental toughness as he submitted Kyle Prepolec in May before doing the same to Mauricio Ruffy in September. Those victories proved he hadn’t lost his edge despite the setbacks. His record now stands at 15-3, with both recent wins coming by submission.

Meanwhile, Beneil Dariush went on an incredible eight-fight winning streak between November 2018 and October 2022. He looked unstoppable during that run and seemed destined for a title shot. Then Charles Oliveira ended those dreams with a first-round TKO in June 2023. The loss hurt, but things got even worse when Arman Tsarukyan knocked him out in just 64 seconds in his next outing. Two brutal finishes in a row would break most fighters’ spirits.

Dariush finally got back in the win column by defeating Moicano by decision in his most recent appearance. That victory was crucial for his career trajectory and showed he still has plenty left in the tank. His record of 23-6-1 reflects a long and successful UFC career. At this stage, Dariush can’t afford many more losses if he wants to make one final push toward championship gold.

The UFC 322 card already looks stacked with two title fights topping the bill. Welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena defends his belt against former lightweight king Islam Makhachev in the main event. The co-main event features Valentina Shevchenko defending her flyweight title against strawweight champion Weili Zhang. Adding Saint-Denis vs Dariush to this card makes it one of the strongest events of the year. Madison Square Garden should be rocking on November 15 when these two lightweights step into the octagon looking to salvage their title hopes!
