Belgian GP Sprint will soon take place at the circuit Spa Francorchamps in Belgium today. The intense, awe-inducing circuit is known for its high speed corners and extreme overtakes. The 2025 Belgian Grand Prix weekend is going to take place from July 25-27 at Spa Francorchamps. The teams are going to start working for the upcoming season having crossed the midway stage of Formula 1.
Formula 1 is back from racing after a long time. The British GP was nearly a month ago. The upcoming race in Formula 1 is taking place at the fastest and the longest circuit of the Formula 1 calendar. If Monza is the “temple of speed”, Spa is definitely where the “speed devil” resides. The twisting and long circuit doesn’t forgive any mistakes. Here’s how the drivers lineup on the grid to race at Spa Francorchamps for the Formula 1 Sprint.
The Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix 2025 starting grid for the sprint race according to official results is as follows-
| 1. Oscar Piastri – McLaren | 2. Max Verstappen – Red Bull Racing |
| 3. Lando Norris – McLaren | 4. Charles Leclerc – Ferrari |
| 5. Esteban Ocon – Haas | 6. Carlos Sainz – Williams |
| 7. Oliver Bearman – Haas | 8. Pierre Gasly – Alpine |
| 9. Isack Hadjar – Racing Bulls | 10. Gabriel Bortoleto – Kick Sauber |
| 11. Liam Lawson – Racing Bulls | 12. Yuki Tsunoda – Red Bull Racing |
| 13. George Russell – Mercedes | 14. Fernando Alonso – Aston Martin |
| 15. Lance Stroll – Aston Martin | 16. Alex Albon – Williams |
| 17. Nico Hülkenberg – Kick Sauber | 18. Lewis Hamilton – Ferrari |
| 19. Franco Colapinto – Alpine | 20. Kimi Antonelli – Mercedes |
The entire sprint qualifying session was a mayhem yesterday. There are numerous new faces which have come to the top-10s for the first time. Both Sainz and Ocon brought forward team best results in the sprint qualifying session. Meanwhile, rookies like Isack Hadjar and Gabriel Bortoleto ended up eliminating much more experienced drivers.

The teams are running extremely low downforce setups which are sensitive to input. As Lewis Hamilton’s spinout in SQ1 showed, the cars wont forgive any driver regardless of their experience. The track is a chaos of pure speed and it will only reward commitment and perfection towards taking the corners.
Sprint qualifying yesterday brought forward Haas and Kick Sauber as the main contenders in the weekend in the midfield. Oscar Piastri meanwhile, is miles ahead of the competition. The gap to pole yesterday was 0.477s. Oscar Piastri looks forward towards turning the upset from last race into something memorable this weekend.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
