Bayern Munich Champions League Opponents for 2025-26 Season: Who Are They Playing, Where and When?

Abhinav Goel

Bayern Munich’s path in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League is set after Thursday’s league-phase draw in Monaco. The Bundesliga champions enter the competition as one of the top seeds. Bayern have been handed a tough but exciting set of fixtures that includes blockbuster clashes with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal.

Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern are determined to improve on last season’s quarter-final finish and will once again enter the competition as one of the tournament favourites. Their Champions League draw for 2025-26 season has set up plenty of intriguing matches as they aim for a seventh European crown.

Bayern Munich Opponents for Champions League 2025-26

Chelsea (Home) – A tie that will evoke memories of the 2012 Champions League final at the Allianz Arena.

Paris Saint-Germain (Away) – Another heavyweight clash. Bayern beat PSG 1-0 in last season’s league phase but were knocked out by the Parisians in the Club World Cup quarterfinals this summer.

Club Brugge (Home) – The Belgians last faced Bayern in 2005/06, where the Germans won at home and drew away.

Arsenal (Away) – Bayern defeated the Gunners 3-2 on aggregate in the 2023/24 quarterfinals and have historically dominated this fixture. However Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will provide a stern test this time around.

Sporting CP (Home) – Bayern will also take on Portugal champions Porto in Champions League league stage.

PSV Eindhoven (Away) – The Eredivisie champions will welcome Bayern in Eindhoven. PSV, managed by Peter Bosz, reached the Champions League Round of 16 last season.

Union Saint-Gilloise (Home) – Bayern will face Champions League debutant Union Saint-Gilloise. The Belgian club won their first league title in 90 years last season. This will be Bayern’s first-ever meeting with them.

Pafos (Away) – Bayern will take on Cyprus champions Pafos. Only founded in 2014, Pafos qualified after coming through three tough playoff rounds. It will also be Bayern’s first-ever meeting with Pafos.
