Arsenal Champions League Opponents for 2025-26 Season: Who Are They Playing, Where and When?

Arsenal now know their eight opponents for the UEFA Champions League 2025-226 league phase following Thursday’s draw in Monaco. The Gunners have been handed a balanced fixture list featuring European giants and several tricky away trips.

The Gunners came agonisingly close last season. They reached the semi-finals before falling to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain. Mikel Arteta’s men will be determined to go one step further this time and challenge for their first-ever Champions League crown.

The Gunners are entering the competition after an ambitious summer in the transfer market. They’ve spent around £250m on Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze, and Martin Zubimendi. Pre-season saw solid wins. Meanwhile, their start of the Premier League campaign has also been strong.

The draw has produced some blockbuster fixtures. Bayern Munich will visit the Emirates in what promises to be a highly charged reunion. Arsenal will aim to avenge previous knockout heartbreaks. Inter Milan, last season’s runners-up will await them at the San Siro.

This will be one of the toughest away fixtures for the Gunners in the league phase. Atletico Madrid, led by Diego Simeone, will bring their trademark defensive resilience when they arrive in North London. Meanwhile, the remaining ties feature a mix of challenging opponents.

Club Brugge, last season’s Belgian Cup winners, host Arsenal in a stadium known for its hostile atmosphere. Olympiacos, a familiar foe, will return to the Emirates for another European clash. Slavia Prague, Czech champions, bring experience from recent continental campaigns. Newcomers Kairat Almaty from Kazakhstan make their Champions League debut and will visit North London.

Finally, Athletic Bilbao, back in Europe’s top competition after 11 years, will provide an intense away day at San Mames. If Arsenal replicate their form from last season, when they won six of eight league-phase games, five wins seem realistic this time. It could be enough to secure a top-eight finish and direct progression to the Round of 16.
