Austrian Grand Prix Contract- Red Bull Ring Stays in Formula 1 Until 2041!

Red Bull Ring is going to stay in Formula 1 for a long long time!

Austria hosted the 11th race of the 2025 Formula 1 season last weekend. The Red Bull Ring gave F1 championship a new turn with Lando Norris’s victory. Max Verstappen was taken out by Antonelli degrading his title chances. Although, the race was monotonous among the front runners. As predicted earlier, the McLarens completely rules the tarmac in Austria.

The recent month has been turbulent for the regular F1 tracks. Some tracks have earned themselves a long contract with Formula 1. However, many are in danger due to replacements coming forward. Circuit de Barcelona- Catalunya is still without a contract after the 2026 F1 season. Imola has lost its only F1 race after 5 years of Formula 1 racing. But the Austrian GP organisers won’t have to face a similar situation. Formula 1 gave Red Bull Ring a surprise gift before the race started on Sunday.

Austrian Grand Prix Contract Extension Approved by FIA

Red Bull Ring was hosting Formula 1 on a secure contract. The race was confirmed to be a part of the F1 calendar until 2030. Red Bull Ring has been holding Formula 1 races since the past decade. The track reappeared in Formula 1 in 2014 for a regular schedule in the calendar. Four drivers have won the Red Bull Ring in the 2025 driver grid.

Austria is also of great importance to Formula 1. It is the home race for Red Bull Racing. The Red Bull Ring is easily sports one of the biggest fanbase of Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. The track runs orange during an F1 weekend with Verstappen fans chanting his famous song, “Super Max”.

More importantly, Mark Mateschitz was present during the race to watch his team perform. He has taken over Red Bull as the co-owner after the death of his father, Dietrich Mateschitz. Mark had to face disappointment with his defending champion not being able to finish the race. However, he got a nice surprise by Formula 1 on business end.

Austria was an important race for nearly every team this year. There was also a change in the power dynamics between the championship contenders and midfielders alike.
